Question:

When I try to secure the leg to the rail, the rubber pad is too think to allow the metal outer bracket to get under the lip/edge of the rail on my Lexus nx300h. I thought tightening would squeeze the rubber pad, but that didnt work.

I do have a roof rack that will fit your vehicle, unfortunately it will not include the Rhino-Rack legs you attached to your question. I checked with Rhino Rack today and I was told that this rack is not a fit for your vehicle. Instead, I recommend a Yakima roof rack. It comes with the crossbars, the towers/feet/legs, and a fit kit that is vehicle specific.

I recommend the Yakima option, it consists of the following;

Yakima Same Key System (SKS) Lock Cores (QTY 4), part # Y07204.

This rack has elliptical shaped crossbars with t-channels. The crossbars shape helps reduce wind noise and aid in fuel efficiency. The t-channels will accept all channel mounted roof rack accessories in addition to working with those accessories that clamp to the crossbars. You can also purchase the Yakima SKS Lock Cores to secure the roof rack to your vehicle.
