Question:
Hello, I was reading Jeffrey Ls response to Alex about the hitch for his Subaru Forester 2015. Alex didnt say what his was for. I have the same vehicle, mine will be to pull an Ace single motorcycle trailer. Heres the link to what Im getting. Wanting to know the best hitch to get to be able to pull this with my Subi. Thanks

As long as your bike and the 300 lb weight of the Ace motorcycle trailer comes in under the 1500 lb towing capacity of your Forester, you'll be able to tow the bike/trailer with no problem at all.
For a hitch, I'd recommend going with a Class III hitch because it uses the more common 2 inch receiver opening. There are many more hitch mounted accessories available for a 2 inch hitch, such as cargo carriers or bicycle racks and the price differential between the 2 inch and the less common 1-1/4 inch receiver is negligible.
I'd recommend the Curt Class III hitch, part # CU64FR. The hitch will be partially concealed once installed, with only the receiver tube and safety chain loops being visible from the rear for a much more attractive appearance. The hitch capacity actually exceeds that that of the vehicle, so there should be no worries or doubts regarding the strength of the hitch.
You'll also need a trailer wiring harness like part # C56040, a # D-3 ball mount, Hitch Pin and Clip, # PC3, and a # 63845 2 inch trailer ball.
I've linked to install instructions and videos for the hitch and the wiring harness.
