Question:
I found the trailer brake connector in the cab under the steering wheel, is the connector live or do I need to do anything else to install the control box? I was wondering if there is a plug and play t- harness to install the 7 way connector?

The brake controller install port you found under the dash of your 2007 Ford F-150 is active and will be used to install a brake controller like the Brake EVN part # TK63VR with an install harness like the # 3035-P. You will need to install a 4-way kit like the # C56031 and then convert it to a 7-way with the part # 37185 and make a few connections from it to the wiring that's at the rear of your truck frame.
If you check out the help article I attached to this page you'll see how to make those connections but there's no connections under hood of your truck needed to activate the brake controller install wiring.
