2015 Ford Police Interceptor Utility, Curt 56306, and trailer power

Question:
I have a 2015 Ford Police Interceptor Utility and purchased the Curt 56306 in order to hook up to my 7 blade travel trailer. My hope was to be able to charge the battery while driving. I have the 56306 plugged into the vehicle wire harness - it connects to only one connector, so it is not utilizing the T and the other connector is not plugged into anything. I have wired the 56306 as per the written instructions vs the plug wire colors indicated on the part itself. The trailer lights work: blinkers, brakes, and tail lights. However when I use my standard tester to test the pins on the Curt 56306, I do not seem to have power on the other pins, so I assume I am still not getting power to help keep the trailer battery charged. From what I understood the curt 56306 when plugged into the Ford harness would power everything, without having to run additional wires. What am I doing wrong? Or what else would I have to do to be able to get power to charge my battery?

If you are sure all of the wires were connected properly I'd check to see if there's any blown fuses under the hood of your vehicle for labelled 12 volt trailer accy and replace as needed.
