Question:

I am looking for a roof basket carrier like the Yakima off grid or something similar. I am also looking for a Jerry can holder, so I can carry it on top of a roof rack basket for a road trip from NJ to Maine. What would you guys recommend? For a Jerry can holder for a roof rack basket carrier like the Yakima off grid. Currently I have a 2020 Subaru forester sport with factory cross bars and currently I have a Thule kayak carriers. Can I still use the kayak carriers with a roof rack basket carrier? Thank you!

If you're looking for a Jerry can holder to go with a basket, that limits what you can mount to your roof. We don't carry can holders that are compatible with baskets like the OffGrid, part # Y07138.

Instead, you can use the Yakima LockNLoad, part # Y05044-39. It's a platform rack that is compatible with factory crossbars. It measures 55" long x 49" wide x 4" tall and weighs 43.5 pounds. It has T-slots for your kayak carriers.

The Jerry can holder for this is the Jerry Can Holder for Yakima LockNLoad Platform Rack, part # Y05038. It measures 14" long x 7-1/2" wide x 4-1/4" tall with a weight capacity of 45 pounds. I've linked to a video review of this below.

If you were intent on having a basket because of the side rails, those are available for the LockNLoad. It is part # Y05055. I've linked to a video review of these as well.
