Question:
Hello, I am considering your item # F2255 Firestone Ride-Rite air helper springs - double convoluted - rear axle, and I have a 2000 Ford Excursion Diesel, with 2 wheel drive. Is this the set applicable to my vehicle? I saw 4WD mentioned, but did not specifically see either 2WD or my 2000 model year mentioned.

Expert Reply:
The Firestone Ride-Rite Air Helper Springs - Double Convoluted - Rear Axle # F2255 is confirmed to fit your 2000 Ford Excursion Diesel 2WD.
The # F2255 gives you up to 4800lbs of load leveling capacity to support your rear suspension when towing a trailer, but keep in mind this will not increase the towing capacity of your vehicle.
To keep from needing to manually inflate the air helper springs each time you are ready to tow I recommend adding an on-board air compressor like the Air Lift Load Controller II Compressor System for Air Helper Springs - Single Path # AL25592 which will allow you to adjust the pressure in the helper springs from the comfort of your driver seat.
I included a video of the # F2255 being installed on a 2000 Ford Excursion for you to take a look at.
