Does Gen-Y Phantom X Reduce Hitch Tongue Weight Capacity For Motorcycle Carrier

Question:
Gen Y Rebel hitch adapter - I am looking for something for the front hitch on my 2019 Ford F-350 dually to provide adaptability to the height of my Black Widow Hitch-Mounted Aluminum Motorcycle Carrier - 400 lb. Capacity with the CURT 31078 2-Inch Front Receiver Hitch - 500 lb. tongue weight capacity installed on my truck. I have seen other hitch adapters decrease the tongue capacity by 50 which would not work to haul my 280 lb. scooter. Does the Gen Y adapter reduce the tongue capacity as well? Is there anything that might work better for my situation? Thanks in advance.

You are right that hitch adapters do in fact reduce the tongue weight capacity of a hitch by 50 percent, so you have a really smart idea here with the Gen-Y Phantom X Ball Mount w/ Stacked Receivers for 2" Hitch - 6" Drop/4.5" Rise # GY87VR.
I took this to Gen-Y to ask them about it, and they said that the Rebel will NOT reduce the tongue weight capacity of your front-mounted hitch, so you will have the full 500 lb tongue weight capacity of your front hitch with the # GY87VR. This would definitely be the best option for your motorcycle carrier as anything else such as a dual adapter would in fact reduce the tongue weight.
