Question:

We have a family of 5 bike riders 2 adults and 3 kids 7 to 4 yrs and Im looking for a dual purpose item. One that serves as an extra cargo space because the Chrysler TandC has all the seats occupied with car seats, plus there is a baby so no internal space to spare, including the trunk as it has a baby stroller. Two as a universal bike rack for the current bike riders. I appreciate your experience.

One solution that you might consider is the Hollywood Racks Sport Rider SE Bike Rack # HR1400Z-85 which gives you ability to use it as a 4 bike rack or a 2 bike rack plus a hitch cargo carrier. Since you have 5 riders though you might also consider a 5 bike rack like the Yakima Ridgeback 5 part # Y02459 and then a roof top cargo box for the extra cargo like the Yakima Skybox NX 16 part # Y95AV.

Otherwise there really isn't a great way to carry that many bikes and additional cargo outside of the vehicle.
