For your 2021 Ford Explorer XLT I recommend the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # 118599 which will not require you to splice into any of your factory wiring, and pulls power directly from your vehicle's battery to protect your factory wiring from damage.
If you are needing a 7-way connector I recommend the # ETBC7L which will plug into your newly installed 4-way connector and pairs up with the Curt Echo Wireless # C51180.
The great part about the # C51180 is that it installs directly into the 7-way connector and will not require you to run any wires into the passenger compartment of your Explorer, and will not require you to drill any holes in your new vehicle to mount a controller.
