Question:

I have a 2021 GMC 2500 HD Sierra with the tow prep package and the puck system. I am interested in purchasing the e16Curt fifth wheel hitch, fixed, but I can’t find the hitch for a standard length bed, only the 8’ bed. Can you give me the part number I need?

The Curt E16 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch for Chevy/GMC Towing Prep Package - Slide Bar Jaw - 16,000 lbs # C47FR you were looking at is confirmed to fit your 2021 GMC Sierra 2500 HD with the OEM prep package with the 6-3/4' bed, but I do not recommend using a fixed fifth wheel hitch unless your trailer has a rotating pin box.

The reason it is only listed as a fit for the 8' bed is due to trucks with beds less than 8' typically needing a slider hitch to avoid trailer to cab contact when making sharp turns.

If your trailer does not have a rotating pin box I recommend going with a slider hitch like the Curt Q24 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch w/ R24 Slider - Dual Jaw - 24,000 lbs # C16546 with the rail adapter # C88KR to make sure you have enough cab to trailer clearance when making sharp turns.

If your trailer does have a rotating pin box the E16 mentioned previously will work perfectly, but you will need the Wedge # C16991.
