Will an ST215/75-14 Trailer Tire Fit on a 6 Inch Wide Wheel

Updated 02/19/2013 | Published 02/18/2013

Question:

I currently have st215/75d tires mounted on aluminum rims on my boat trailer. I need a spare, and was considering the same tire but on a painted rim to save money. The aluminum rims are 5 1/2 inches wide but the painted rims are 6 inches wide. As long as there is fender clearance will this be a problem if i have to use the 6 inch as a spare at some point?

If your trailer uses a 5 on 4-1/2 bolt pattern then you can use wheel # AM20352 which is 5-1/2 inches wide. Or for a tire and wheel combo with a Load range C 215/75D14 bias trailer tire use # AM3S550.

A 215/75-14 tire will fit on a 6 inch wide rim. The rim width is not the issue since the tire width is over 8 inches so there will be no clearance issue.
