The Kat's Heaters Oil or Transmission Pan Heating Pad Item # KH24100 can be plugged in over night. It is recommended by the manufacturer to only place the pad on a metal surface because it does get hot and will melt plastic. This unit is designed to get hot to keep the fluid from thickening during those freezing temperatures.
