How Does Go Power Industrial Pure Sine Wave Inverter Charger # 34275013 Turn On

Question:
I was going to install the 3000 W Inverter Charger this weekend and then finish my battery bank and hook it up the following weekend. Reading the User Manual I find that it says the Inverter must be on for the pass-through switch to work. That means this unit most have battery power applied to it for the Pass-through switch to work?

The Go Power Industrial Pure Sine Wave Inverter Charger # 34275013 needs to have power ran to it and the button to turn it on must be pressed with the light on the display to show that it is on.
