I understand that a hdx 57-3540 will not mount on a 2016 Dodge 2500 but will a hdx 57-3550 mount on my 2016 Dodge 1500 ?

The correct Westin HDX Grille Guard with Punch Plate for a 2016 Ram 1500 is part # 57-3540. The Westin HDX Grille Guard with Punch Plate part # 57-3550 is for 2500/3500 models and will not work on the 1500. The grille guards for the 1500 and 2500/3500 models are not cross-compatible.
