I see round chrome dots on one side. Do these have spikes on the side that goes down?

The Stallion Tire Grip recovery track, part # 288-07411-2 does feature metal studs on the underside that will help the mat grip the ground surface. You can get a better look at the mat by checking out the video I've linked for you.
