My Recently Installed 7-Way is Not Working on my 2011 Toyota Tundra What Can it be

Question:

I have everything connected to the factory connection correctly. The main lights and turn signals work. The 12v Power, Back Up light and Electric brake seem to not be working. I checked fuses under the hood and dash and they all are where they are supposed to be. What else do I need to connect.

The Hopkins Plug-In Simple Vehicle Wiring Harness for Factory Tow Package part # HM11143395 has two leads that should be connected. If those are both connected then your truck was not equipped with the factory wiring in place to get the signals back there where you need them.

Start by checking for missing relays. It is often the case they simply don't install them. This info can be found in your owner's manual. If this does not work you can contact the dealer to see if there is a harness that will complete the wiring you need.

If they do not offer this as an option then the Hopkins Plug-In Simple Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector part # HM11141835 will give you the basic 4-way flat connector then you can add the Universal Installation Kit for Trailer Brake Controller part # ETBC7 to complete your 7-way installation.

I have linked a video on an earlier model Tundra for you to check out. while it will not be exact it will give you an idea as to how the process goes.
