Question:

Need a setup for 2015 Toyota rav4 XLE, to carry two ten foot kayaks at the same time. Have factory rails on top, no cross bars. Thinking J Bars. Thanks

First, we need to get some crossbars on your roof! Since you have raised side rails, you can attach a Yakima roof rack system with just two parts: # Y00425 and # Y33TR. Those are 50" JetStream Cross Bars # Y00425 and TimberLine Towers # Y33TR that mount to your rails.

For the kayak carriers, we have many options. If you're looking for J-style carriers, we have the etrailer J-style Kayak Carrier # e98878. These are nice since they can fold down when not in use. You can put two up on your bars since you have 50" of bar space to work with.

Another option is the Malone FoldAway 5 # MAL38FR. This one can move into different positions to accommodate you kayaks. You can put a large or small kayak in the J position or flat position, or you can carry two kayaks in the 'saddlepost' position. I put two kayaks on my car last week with 51" crossbars and there was plenty of space for them on there as you can see in the attached picture.
