How to Remove Thule Lock Cylinder With 853-1251 Universal Change Key

Question:
Just received this replacement knob. Locking cylinder on damaged knob is ok and can be reused. Not sure how to remove and install locking cylinder on new knob. Do I need to also purchase universal key? Thanks

You would indeed need the Thule # 853-1251 Universal Change Key to remove the un-damaged lock cylinder from your existing locking knob and install it into the replacement knob. With the cylinder unlocked, insert the change key and wiggle the key. The cylinder will pop right out. The video I've linked shows exactly how to remove the lock cylinder.
