Can the flood light and spot beam be operated separately?

No, the Optronics # UCL25CB has only 1 set of wires so the flood and spot beams are designed to work at the same time. We currently do not carry a light bar that allows you to switch between a spot and flood light. You also may want to check out the MaxxTow Off-Road Light Bar - LED - 300 Watts - Mixed Beam - 2 Row - 54-1/2" Long # MT80636, which might fit as well, but I really like that it includes the switch and wiring harness.
