Question:
I have a customer looking to install a block heater in their 2007 BMW X3 3.0i. This model KH30926 appears to be your recommendation for this application. Can you please tell me where this is installed on this vehicle? The oil drain plug is a M12 x 1.5 thread, I would expect this is where the heater is installed, however this model of heater indicates it has Thread size: 1inch NPT. Any information you can provide would be helpful.

Kat's heaters recommends the # KH11431 for the 3.0L engine in the 2007 BMW X3. It's designed to take the place of the frost plug on the right hand (passenger) side of the engine block toward the center of the block.
I checked their fit information on their website and wasn't able to find any reference to the # KH30926 being a fit for the 3.0L engine in an X3.
