Question:
I have a 2003 Ford Ranger pickup 2 wheel drive manual transmission.I also have a Roadmaster Stowmaster towbar which I purchased 2nd hand. Instead of the roadmaster 483-1 XL brackets will the 462-1 work to mount my Stowmaster towbar?.

The Roadmaster Stowmaster tow bar is compatible with standard base plate kit # 477-1 for your 2003 Ford Ranger if you have an Edge model. The XL kit, # 483-1, for the XL and XLT truck models has removable arms so that when you are not towing the truck they can be removed making the rest of the kit virtually invisible. I have included a link to a video and a link to the instructions for the Stowmaster, # RM-501.
