I bought one that said Toyota. I wired it according to the schematic. I havent tested it yet. Is the wiring pin out the same for Ford or Dodge as it is for Toyota?

After a certain year, Dodge, Ford, GM, and Toyota all started using the same type of connectors for tow package wiring 7-Way connectors. There are a few harnesses that fit all 4 of these makes. If you are using a harness like # 50-97-410 with the round connectors that just plugs in then it would be the same on newer Dodge, Ford, GM, and Toyota vehicles.
On older models and those that did not originally come with a 7-Way trailer connector from the factory they would be unique to the manufacturer of the vehicle and most likely would not match up.
When hard wiring in any harness you have to go by function and not color of the wire. Use a test light like # PTW2993 to determine the functions of the truck wiring and then attach 7-Way accordingly.
