Does this unit have a restriction on the ball mount rise/? To be specific, would a 12” rise be safe to use with this hitch receiver. Thanks!

There is not a restriction associated with a ball mount's rise or drop for the Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch Receiver # 76143 that fits your 2020 Tesla Model X.
For a ball mount the one with the most rise we offer is the Convert-A-Ball Ball Mount for 2" Hitches - 10-3/4" Rise, 12" Drop # AMSC12.
For 1-7/8" or 2" hitch balls with this mount you'll need the Convert-A-Ball Interchangeable Ball Set # 901b; for a 2-5/16" hitch ball you'll need part # C40007. And for a hitch lock to secure the mount to your hitch you'll need the etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver Lock # e98880.
Additionally, for a 4-way wiring harness to power your trailer's lights the harness that fits your Tesla is the ZCI Circuit Protected Vehicle Wiring Harness # 119250KIT.
