Question:

Hello, I am looking at the 7-pole to 5-way adapter #HM47025 and wanted to know if this will work on my EZ-Loader boat trailer with electric over hydraulic brakes. My 2015 Ram 3500 receptacle has the brake contact on the lower right when facing the receptacle. Not sure what the center pin controls. Thank you for your assistance!

Tthe Hopkins connector, part # HM47025, will connect your 2015 Ram 3500's 7-way to your boat trailer's 5-way but it won't power the EOH brakes. Your truck's brake output pin is the in 5 O'clock position which is standard and the center pin is the reverse light circuit. The Hopkins connector uses that reverse light circuit for the 5th pin that's normally on a boat trailer for its electric reverse lockout.

Instead I'd cut the trailer's 5-way off and replace it with a 7-way. Part # HS381-9000 is a great option because it includes the junction box and connectors to make a clean install.
