The absolute best option for you is to use a Retrax tonneau cover with the Trax Rails and a Yakima OverHaul HD ladder rack. It provides security for any cargo in the 5-1/2' bed on your 2018 Ford F-150 plus it gives you a really easy way to install and remove the ladder rack when needed.
On the high end of the tonneau cover we have the PowertraxPRO XR # RTT-90373 which is aluminum, powered, and has a matte black finish and then on the low end we have the RetraxONE XR # RTT-60373 which is lexan, manual, but still has the matte black finish.
For a ladder rack you can use the 68" HD bar OverHaul HD # Y01151-5855 or the 78" version # Y01151-5955.
There are other choices out there but this is what I recommend for a cover/ladder rack setup. If you'd like to explore more cost-effective options we can definitely do so, but the benefits to this system is definitely worth the extra money.
