Trailer Hitch and Bike Rack Recommendations for a 2012 Ford Mustang V6

Question:
Im wanting to use my mustang to transport my bike to and from riding sites and not for sure which is the better option. I went bye the local bike shop that sells the Thule Raceway trunk bike rack but with no bumper edge for support, thats out. My concern with a trailer hitch is more of appearance, I dont want a huge space between the car and bike rack. Do you have any suggestions and maybe images?

To carry bikes on your 2012 Ford Mustang, the safest and easiest option is to install a trailer hitch, like # 24863, that you have referenced. this is a Class I hitch that can handle as much as 2 bikes, but no more, and you will need to make sure the bike rack you use is Class I compatible.
On the V6 models, the top of the receiver tube will be slightly below the rear fascia on the vehicle. I have included a link to the installation instructions for you to view. There is a diagram in the upper left corner that will give you an idea of what the hitch will look like once installed.
For a bike rack I recommend the Swagman Titan, # S63400. Is is Class I compatible, holds 2 bikes, and includes anti-sway cradles and an integrated cable lock. I have included a link to the instructions and a link to a video review of this rack for you.
