Hitch Bike Rack Recommendation for Best Visibility with Rear Camera

Published 06/27/2020

Question:

A platform bike rack that has folding masts like the Saris SuperClamp part # SA4025F would be a great choice. When you aren't carrying any bikes the rack would fold down far enough that your rear camera would be unobstructed. Also since the wheel clamps are to the outsides of the rack it would have the least amount of obstruction when carrying bikes as well. You'd still have to look through the frame of the bikes but there's no real way to get around that with a bike rack carried at the rear of the vehicle.

The T2 Pro XTR part # TH83JV that you referenced would be a really great choice. It would give you the visibility you are looking for plus can fold up when not in use as well. It also comes with locks for the rack to your hitch and for bikes to the rack too which will give some peace of mind being installed all the time.
