Recommended Roof Basket, Bike Carrier and Snowboard Carrier for 2020 Toyota RAV4

I have a solution for you, but the Thule Roof Basket #TH859XT isn't going to be the best option. Additionally, most manufacturers do not recommend attaching anything to the cargo basket-and it's really not possible because of the small size of the bars that are used on the bottoms of the baskets.

With that said, I recommend starting with the Rhino Rack # RRRMCB03, which has fork mounted bike carriers integrated into the cargo basket. This is a more economical solution than adding two bike carriers compatible with the Rola roof basket, and actually provides you with a bit more space to carry gear when you don't have bikes loaded. This basket will fit on a variety of crossbars shapes and sizes up to a maximum of 3-1/2" wide x 1-1/4" tall.

When it comes to a ski and snowboard carrier, I recommend using the Rhino Rack # RR574 which has a capacity of 4 pairs of skis or 2 snowboards and comes with locks to keep someone from walking off with the skis/boards. This ski/snowboard carrier will attach directly to the crossbars on your roof with the cargo basket removed and allow you to safely carry your gear to and from the mountain. This carrier can fit on aftermarket and factory crossbars with the same dimensions as the roof basket, so you'll want to verify yours are no larger than 3-1/2" wide x 1-1/4" tall.

If your 2020 Toyota RAV4 does not already have factory crossbars installed, you can add the Rhino Rack Roof Rack Kit with parts # RRVA126B-2 (crossbars) and # RRSX100 (towers).
