Question:

What voltage and amperage capacity is Momentary Push Button Switch for RV Power Roof Vents - Normally Closed - 4 Wire Leads - Black Item # DG52451VP? Also, it looks like there is only one nut to hold it in place. Dont you need two to position it? Thanks

The Momentary Push Button Switch for RV Power Roof Vents - Normally Closed - 4" Wire Leads - Black # DG52451VP cuts the 12v power to your roof vent fan. Those fan motors normally pull about 1.2 amps.

It only requires the one threaded nut to hold it in place properly. It will require a 1/2 inch hole for mounting. I've attached a photo to assist.

Who is the manufacturer for DG52451VP? I'd like to buy and use this switch only I'm not sure as the one I have is stamped 3 amp, 120 V.A.C. ,125V (which could be 12.5 V?) IT will be used on a home kitchen exhaust fan. Thoughts?

@BarryyG The # DG52451VP is made by Valterra (under their Diamond Group brand) and is really meant for RV roof vent fans, which usually run on 12-volt DC. Your current switch says 3A at 120V AC, which is fine for small household loads, but the DG52451VP isn’t really designed for that, it’s more for low-voltage RV use. Since your kitchen exhaust fan almost certainly runs on 120V AC, I wouldn’t recommend swapping it with the DG52451VP. It might not be rated for the voltage or the amps your fan needs, and that could be unsafe. Honestly, I would take your current switch to a local hardware store. Personally, I like Ace, those guys seem to be much more knowledgeable than the other guys in those bigger stores =) Might need a special switch for household exhaust fan.

@KateF Thanks Kate F. your response is appreciated. I also though local hardware stores would be of help but no luck. However, I was able to locate a switch online.
