Question:
Yakima shows these tracks being installed on the inward side of the roof channel. Your video shows them on the outside. Is there a preferable location?

Helpful Expert Reply:
I was able to find the video you are referring to of an installation of part # Y01127 on the 2004 Ford F-250, our installer does attach the tracks closer to the door because that is the strongest part of the roof. I have attached that video. I contacted Yakima and they said the tracks can be installed anywhere on the roof of 2001 Ford F-350 that works best for you but we like to install them closer to the door for stability.
