I have an expensive bike rack with the 1-1/4" shank and I do not want to use an adapter. I will only be using the hitch for the bike rack. Is there a hitch I can use for a 2020 acura rdx? It has a 18" spare tire i already checked is the installation hard? I am going to ask my dad to do it.

Christina, thank you for all of the very helpful information. I recommend the Draw-Tite hitch part # 36114 for the 2020 Acura RDX which will give you the 1-1/4" receiver opening to carry the bike rack. The installation does not require drilling into the Acura's frame or fascia trimming so the installation is pretty straight forward. The spare tire and exhaust will need to be temporarily lowered to make room to install the hitch but that's pretty simple. The spare tire should have a lowering mechanism and the exhaust can be lowered using a pry bar to pry off the isolator hangers with a little bit of spray lubrication. I have also attached the installation instructions so you can show your dad.
