Question:

I need an extra 2 inches on the swagman xtc 4 bike trailer shank to clear the bumper when folded up. Do you have a longer shank?

I may have a solution for you, but Swagman does not offer longer replacement shanks for the XTC 4 Bike Rack, # S64665. We do carry the Brophy Hitch Extenders like part # HE06 for 2 inch hitch or part # hes6 for 1-1/4 inch hitch. It is important to note that using a hitch extender will decrease the weight capacity of your trailer hitch and your vehicle by 50 percent. Another issue that may arise by using a hitch extender is ground clearance when driving up a steep incline.

We always recommend using a bike rack that will install directly into the hitch receiver, so if it is an option to get a bike rack that will better fit your vehicle, then that would be the ideal solution.

You should verify the weight capacity of your hitch and vehicle before loading bikes onto the bike rack with the hitch extender.
