Since you are wanting to use the EZ-5 Direct Connect Base Plate Kit # RM-523198-5 with the Roadmaster BlackHawk 2 All Terrain # RM-422 for your 2019 GMC Sierra 1500 you need to use the Roadmaster Tow Defender # RM-4750 instead of the Roadmaster Tow Defender # RM-4700.

If you already own the 4700 version then you'll need the Base Plate Kit # RM-523198-4 instead.

I have confirmed all of this with Roadmaster.

I have already installed the RM 523198-5 base plate and own the RM 422 tow bar and the RM 4700 screen protector. Is there a solution to make these work together without having to replace one of the components?

The only way that you can utilize the Base Plate Kit # RM-523198-5 with the Roadmaster Tow Defender # RM-4700 is if you replace the arms of your base plate kit to the square design that comes with Base Plate Kit # RM-523198-4. You can do this by using the order form found here # RM-ARMS, filling it out completely, and choosing the "square" style as opposed to the round style. This then allows you to use the crossbar that came with your BlackHawk 2 All Terrain # RM-422 tow bar to install the Tow Defender. Aside from this you'll need to swap out your current Tow Defender with the Roadmaster Tow Defender # RM-4750.
