Will the same reciever hitch off of a 2018 chevy traverse fit my 2010 nissan xterra?

The two vehicles you mentioned are different enough that they require totally different trailer hitches. So for your 2010 Nissan Xterra you'd need a hitch like the Curt Class III part # 13514 which is a custom fit. I attached an install video for this hitch on a similar 2010 Xterra as well.
There also would be no way to modify a hitch from another vehicle to fit yours either.
