Question:

Having sold my Ford towed vehicle I wish to use the Falcon All Terrain tow bar with the replacement car, a 2016 Envision. The Ford required a quick detach crossbar but according to the base plate description for the Buick, this is a direct connect. I also have a Guardian rock guard that used brackets attached to the crossbar, how can I use the rock guard with the newer direct connect base plate design, or can I adapt the crossbar to still work with the Buick base plate? Thanks

There are indeed direct-connect base plates available for your 2016 Buick Envision but there are also crossbar-style models that will allow you to continue to use your existing Guardian Rock Guard # RM-4000.

For this I recommend the Roadmaster Crossbar-Style Base Plate Kit # RM-523188-4, which will work perfectly on your new Buick while maintaining the type of setup you had on the Ford including the Falcon All Terrain's crossbar and Rock Guard.

I have attached the written installation instructions that you can check out as well. The Direct-Connect base plates simply aren't compatible with your Rock Guard so this will be your best option.
