The installation of base rails on your 2017 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 will vary depending on what kit you are using. I recommend the Reese Quick-Install Custom Installation Kit part # RP50064-58 because it is a custom fit kit that does not require any drilling into the frame. Once you line up the frame brackets with the pre-drilling holes in the frame, you can then line the base rails up with the frame brackets which makes things very easy. If you need help, we have an install video of this which I have attached for you along with the written installation instructions.
