Question:

I am wondering if this rack would work for loading kayaks on top of a 2016 Aliner Scout. Would I need to buy those J-shaped attachments and if so, will they fit the bars on this rack? Thanks from a couple of newbies,

There's no reason you couldn't install the Sportrack roof rack part # SR1020 on your 2016 Aliner Scout so that when it's folded down you could then use a J-style kayak carrier to carry kayaks like the Yakima JayLow part # Y04073. This is a padded kayak carrier that can be folded down when not in use that installs easily as well. I attached a review video for this for you to check out as well.
