Question:

Jon, Not sure your answer is totally correct as I first checked the output voltage with a multimeter while the trailer was not connected. I connected the trailer with the same result. I also would be curious how the website would direct me that the kit I bought was an exact match to my vehicle, but yet I need to spend more money for another part to make it work. On a side note, my vehicle is actually a 2017 Escape SE.

If the turn signals on your trailer aren't working after installing the T-One # 118802 on your 2018 Ford Escape it sounds like your trailer may have separate lighting which means the stop and turn circuit aren't combined like they are on your Escape. To remedy this you need the Converter # 118158 which takes your combined wiring and separates those functions to match your trailer.

Just so I understand correctly, when you test the 4-Way connector for the T-One # 118802 on your 2017 Ford Escape you don't get the turn signal functions to work (see attached photo). If you are seeing voltage with your turn signals then the issue is on your trailer side. If you aren't seeing voltage with your turn signals then the issue is either with your vehicle (if the turn signals on your vehicle stopped working) or the T-One itself. Since your vehicle uses a combined wiring system that has the stop and turn functions on the same circuit I find it odd that the stop lights are working but the turn signals are not. The T-One # 118802 is the correct fit for your '17 Focus. The converter # 118158 that I referenced is something that you need to use if the wiring configuration on your trailer doesn't match up with the wiring configuration on your vehicle. If your trailer has lights that carry both stop and turn functions then you don't need the converter but if your trailer has separate lights for the stop and turn functions then the converter will fix your issue. If you are still having issues let me know if you are seeing the turn signal function when you are testing the T-One 4-Way connector and if your trailer has combined or separate lighting and I can assist you further.
