Will Using a New Tuner Return My Truck Back to Stock and Overwrite Old Tune
Updated 07/02/2019 | Published 07/01/2019 >
Question:
Bought a used 2011 F-150 5.0 fx4 and it had a edge cs tuner on it.. the tuner would say it’s loading then would shut off, or when Id unplug it it would say can’t connect.. i believe the truck may not be in stock and would still have one of the cs tunes on it.. I bought a cts2 edge evolution tuner 85400, and was wondering do I need to return truck to stock before I use the edge cts2 or will it overwrite whatever tune is being used?

Yes, you would need to return the 2011 F-150 5.0 back to stock before using the Edge CTS2 part # EP84130 on the Ford. The Edge tuner that installed the tune would need to return the truck back to stock but it sounds like you are not able to get the tuner to stay on so you will probably have to take the truck to a dealership and have them reprogram the computer back to stock.
Using the EP84130 will not automatically return the truck back to stock but in the future if you need to return to stock you can with the menu on the CTS2.
