Question:
In your answer you said roof racks would have to be removed. Why? Carrier sets between racks.

If the Karrite Road Rider Cargo Box will fit between the crossbars on your Toyota Rav4 then they will not need to be removed. The Non-Skid Roof Protection Pad part # RL100650 can be used to protect the vehicle's roof and then you can use the integrated mounting straps to secure it but not to the crossbars. As mentioned, if you want to secure this to the crossbars you would need to use the Replacement Hardware Kit part # TH05603 by centering the cargo box on your two crossbars, marking the holes on either side of the crossbar in the box, drill these holes out, and then install the u-bolts though the box and around the crossbars.
