Question:

Will be buying a 2019 Honda Odyssey EX and installing a Class III receiver. I have seen the 4 options available through etrailer, and from the photos, it appears that the etrailer e98855 has the cross tube located a bit further towards the front of the vehicle than the Curt and etrailer models, is there a way to confirm if this is indeed the case? Also, I have seen recommendations here for the Tekonsha T-One wire harness 118781 and also the 118783. From what I have found, every Honda Odyssey wire harness is the same and the rear fuse block is prewired for towing. If that is indeed the case, wouldn’t it make more sense to use the 118781, since you wouldn’t need to run the dedicated circuit directly to the battery? Sorry for so many questions, but what appears to be a rather simple decision on installing a hitch, has become quite involved with a lot of research. Thanks for your help.

Actually the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver part # C13370 and the etrailer.com Trailer Hitch Receiver part # e98855 sit about the some so either would work. These two hitches are very similar to one another except the # e98855 has a matte black finish and the # C13370 has a glossy black finish.

In regard to the trailer wiring harnesses, the only difference between the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness part # 118781 and part # 118753 is that the former is a non-powered unit and the latter is a powered unit. If you only have a small trailer with few lights then you can use part # 118781 but if you have a larger trailer with a bunch of lights then you would really want to use part # 118753 instead.
