If you are trying to change the 7-way connector on your vehicle to a 6-way round connector you can use the Hopkins Adapter, part # 47549. This adapter will plug into your existing 7-Way and give you a 6-Way round connector. The center pin of the 6-Way side of this adapter is setup as the 12 volt power lead, but it can be changed if you need the center pin wired as a brake lead.
If you were needing to change to a 6-Way square connector, you can use the above # 47549 adapter and add the Hopkins Adapter 6-Round to 6-Square, part # HM47415. This adapter will plug into the 6-Way round adapter and give you a 6-Way square connector. Again, you will want to make sure the center pin is wired correctly on the 6-Way round connector.
I am including a link to a FAQ page on trailer wiring.
