They measure 5 inches. How much of that extends from the body of the vehicle? I’m Needing max foot placement for safety.

The AeroTread Running Boards # AA2051032 are 5 inches wide and are designed to fit right up the body of the vehicle at it's lowest point so you'd need to measure 5 inches out from that point to see where they'd end up.
