Question:
We need a brake controller for our new 2012 Ford Flex with factory tow package. Is the Tekonsha 90885-22292 a good choice? Does it come with an adapter cable that plugs into the factory harness? I want to install the controller in a relatively unobtrusive location. Does the 360 degrees in the spec mean that the unit can be tilted and doesnt need to be level to calibrate? Thanks.

The Tekonsha Prodigy P2 Brake Controller, part # 90885, and the Plug-In Adapter, part # 22292, is an excellent choice for your 2012 Ford Flex, with the factory tow package. The factory tow package will include a factory 4-Way and 7-Way connector at the rear of the vehicle.
This is a proportional brake controller which means it applies power to the trailers brakes in proportion to the vehicles braking action. It is our best selling controller, and is easy to use and set up. I am including links to the installation instructions on the Prodigy brake controller and the plug-in adapter.
The Prodigy brake controller can be mounted in a 360 degree vertical range. So the mounting angle is flexible, but you will want to have easy access to the brake controller when towing. Since the brake controller plug is under the dash you will probably want to install it under the dash or if there is a location in the center console that is within easy reach of the driver and the button and knob on the brake controller is accessible.
I am including a link to a video of a Prodigy brake controller and the plug-in adapter being installed on a 2009 Ford F-150. The vehicle is different but the installation would be similar.
