More Reliable Trailer Wiring Harness Recommendation for 2013 Kia Sorento

Question:
Is there any way to eliminate the problem of this part failing due to excessive snow pack on the underside of the vehicle. This is the second time it has failed when I try and use it in the spring. I live in Northern Wisconsin and we experienced record snow fall this past winter. In fact woke up yesterday to a fresh snowfall. Anybody want to trade for a house in Florida? Dont want to have to replace this part every other year . Please respond Thanks

It's not an ideal solution, but the best one would be to remove the Curt install harness part # C55550 when not in use. Since most likely you won't be towing when it's snowing you might just plug it in as you need it and then remove it if you don't think you'll be towing for a while.
