Question:

Will a 1999 Chevy Silverado bumper fit on a 2005 silevetsdo? I have the capability to weld new brackets if need be.

Yes, a Chevy Silverado bumper from 1999 will fit a 2005 model. For instance, the Westin Perfect Match Series Rear Step Bumper - Chrome Plated Steel # 31006 is a fit for both 1500 and 2500 LD trucks, but is not a fit for 2500 and 3500 HD trucks. You would need to do some custom brackets for the HD models for the 1999 bumper to fit your 2005 as we don't have a fit for a 1999 Heavy Duty truck.

If you have a the 2500 or 3500 model for 2005 you may consider the custom fit # 31013.
