Question:

Hi, I would like to know what the tire width limit is for the hoops, and if there are options to accommodate fat tire bikes along with standard bikes? I have a 2004 Odyssey with a 2inch hitch. I am asking about the part# MAL82VR. Also, where is this part made in? I would also be interested in platform style rack that is expandable to carry 4 bikes. What brands do you have that are US made? Our bikes are around 35 pounds each. Thank you.

The Malone Runway 4 Bike Rack # MAL82VR can hold tires up to 3.5 inches wide and unfortunately, Malone does not make a fat tire adapter kit for the this rack. This bike rack is also not able to go from its 4-bike configuration to a 2-bike configuration, so I don't believe it's your best option.

Now, for a USA made 4-bike rack the best option is the Thule T2 Pro XTR part # TH83JV with 2-bike add on # TH9036XT which can go back and forth between a 2-bike and a 4-bike rack and is designed for fat tire bikes (up to 5" wide) as well. This rack only will touch your bikes at the tires too which means it will protect any delicate frame materials or finishes. I attached a review video for more info as well.
