The Tekonsha Primus IQ Trailer Brake Controller # TK90160 and Prodigy P2 # 90885 will not allow for horizontal position change although they do allow for more vertical positioning. This is due to the internal deceleration sensor. If you want a proportional controller with the ability to mount on the dash in a different orientation, I recommend the Redarc Tow-Pro Elite Trailer Brake Controller # RED44FR or the Curt Spectrum # C51170. These both use a box under the dash so the mount to the dash isn't an issue.
If you are looking for a controller that can be positioned in other ways, then a time delayed controller like the Tekonsha PowerTrac # 39523 will also work. It won't give you the same braking as your vehicle but will give you a set pressure instead. The benefit to that for your mount is it won't have an accelerometer that needs to be positioned in a particular orientation.
If you don't need a dash mounted option, then the Curt Echo # C51180 is a proportional controller that doesn't need a dash mount at all and can be mounted in most orientations even 90 degrees sideways like in a truck bed mount.
