Installation of Rhino-Rack Fit Kit on 2018 Ford Edge

Question:
I followed the instructions for the DK432 measurements on my 2018 Ford Edge but when I set it in the vehicle there is the gap. Is this right or should the left side the the door pad be sitting agains the door frame, in other woulda should I bring the door out to the right slightly?. I have included the rubber strips and measuring strips but I’m still getting a lot of whistling. Any help is appreciated.

There should not be the gap you are showing. The # DK432 pad should sit right up against that lip in your roof. Some of the whistling is no doubt coming from that fit with a wind tunnel at that location. There will always be some additional wind noise when you add a roof rack, but if you are experiencing an exceptional amount of noise from what you anticipated, you may want to add a fairing to your system.
For your crossbar width, I recommend the Rhino-Rack Fairing for Roof Racks - 44" Long # RRRF3.
