I currently use the RP30084 in my 2016 3500HD with a 6 1/2 foot bed. I’m looking to upgrade to a dually with an 8 foot bed with a prep package. Is there an adapter I can buy so this hitch will mate up or can I buy a new base and continue to use the hitch head? I really don’t want to buy a new hitch.

The Reese 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch w/ Square Tube Slider # RP30084 can be converted to work with an 8 foot bed. If you are sticking with Chevy for your dually, then you will most likely want the Replacement Base Legs for Reese 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch # RP30727 since you don't need the slider base and then Demco 5th Wheel Rail Adapter for Chevy/GMC OEM 5th Wheel Towing Prep Package - 8' Bed - 21K # DM6206. This combination will work very well for you giving you the rail adapter for a Chevy factory puck system and updating your hitch to be lighter weight and work well.
